About Our Motel
Welcome to the Orange Motel, a family-owned and operated establishment since 1990. Our motel is a well-spotted landmark in Lake County, along with the Citrus Tower and the Lake Ridge Winery. Our owners, Jamaican natives who migrated to New York fell in love with the hills of Clermont and the orange groves, and decided to settle here, buying the motel in December of 1990. Our vision is to provide a place where families and travelers can rest and enjoy the beauty and history of Minneola and Clermont while on their travels around Florida, including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World, which are only 20 to 30 minutes away from the motel.
History of the Cities of Minneola and Clermont
The City of Minneola, located in beautiful rolling hills of Central Florida, has a rich history dating back to the late1800s. Its name, derived a Dakota Indian woman meaning "many waters," is fitting with over 1,000 named lakes in Lake County. The city's highest elevation in Florida's peninsula at 312 feet above sea level makes it unique destination. During the Great Depression, citrus became the leading industry in Lake County, and Minneola predominantly a farming community with citrus as the primary crop.
